Welcome to Skinner City Farm! We are a unique Community Garden near the base of Skinner Butte in Skinner Butte Park. We offer agriculturally-based programs for our plotholders and the general community.
Upcoming Mobile Cannery Events: October 9th
Please join us for We Can: An Historical Retrospective of the Art and Science of Canning Pears and Apples, a community garden canning demonstration at Skinner City Farm on Sunday, October 9th from 3 to 5 p.m. Partners from the Lane County Extension Master Food Preservers, Huerto de la Familia, and the Center for Appropriate Transport will bring the bicycle-powered Mobile Cannery kitchen to the Skinner City Farm Community Garden SEE UPATE BELOW!! at the west end of Skinner Butte Park (between Lawrence and Washington on Cheshire) for a unique food preservation demonstration. We will present and provide recipes on how to can pears and apples. You can learn about techniques from the past and how to safely use them today.
UPDATE: Site changed due to weather conditions. We will hold the demo at The Center for Appropriate Transport (1st and Washington)
